Meet DCMP Graphic Designer, Sarah Nagel

Hi! I’m Sarah Nagel, the lead Graphic Designer and Creative Director for DCMP. I’m currently a student at UC Davis where I’m studying Design, with an emphasis in Graphic Design and Visual Communications. I’ve loved using art as a creative outlet since I was young, but only realized a few years ago that I wanted to center my career around it. Since making this decision, I’ve tried out many different types of art and design, including photography, music, 3d design, painting, digital illustration, and many more, before finally discovering my love for graphic design and choosing to focus on that. I’m grateful to be able to attend a school like UC Davis, where my design skills are constantly challenged and I’m able to connect with and learn from people with incredibly diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise. Recently, I’ve been inspired by strong female designers with large followings on social media, like Jie Zheng and Dani Roche.

I’ve had the privilege to be with DCMP since the beginning, when Aly was first conceptualizing the idea for her senior thesis project in her last year of college. I remember listening to her practice her thesis presentation, and then creating the first, very basic graphics for our Instagram page. Since then, I’ve been able to collaborate with Aly on various creative projects such as creating original graphics and content for DCMP’s Instagram page, helping her curate an aesthetically pleasing social media feed, and more recently, designing our first release of official merchandise! I can’t wait to see what else we will be able to create as DCMP continues to grow and inspire more women worldwide.
